To me the Jazz Network came from love, the love of jazz and the people that played it. This project brought an outlet that establishes friendships and the means to encourage one another in this difficult business.. I am greatful that Chubby's daughter is sweet and loving, and a big supporter of this wonderful music called jazz

Someone asked me today to describe The Jazz Network. Wow, it wasn't so easy when I thought about it. The short answer - a jazz home, and a home away from home. Meaningful connections and finding old friends. The opportunity to bring the music I love closer and offer my support to the artist who are creating jazz as well as honoring those who helped create jazz.

A community to be a part of and a community to help nuture, learn from and educate. A unique way to see the future of jazz - today. How would you describe The Jazz Network?

Jaijai,

The hardest part is...where do I begin? So many thoughts flood my head and heart at this particular moment, but they all say the same thing...THANK YOU! Thank you for bringing your vision to our lives. God has blessed you so much and in turn, He has blessed us with knowing you and being a part of a world-wide family. The foundation of this family is love, spirit, music and art. I've never felt anything like it, and it just like you said, a movement, and I want to keep it moving!

I tell everyone I know about TJN and how it has impacted my life. When I was featured as an artist on TJN, I was overwhelmed with the outpour of love and support and I am still high from it. I've been so inspired that I'm creating, along with some wonderful jazz network family here in Atlanta...a tribute to the jazz legends and showcase of gifts. A way for us to come together and make things happen. Isn't that what it's all about, creating and sharing love? I'm doing my part and I encourage others to continue spreading the love...love of music, love of art, love of life! We have you to thank, for being a vessel of God's love. You are beautiful, inside and out!

I love you!

Jaijai,

What a great endeavor this is. There are so many people that have contacted me thru this site. You present us (musicians, singers), the way we should be. This brings the JAZZ COMMUNITY together like never before. I am so glad and grateful to be included. As many have said before, this is a 'BLESSING', and you are a treasure for doing this.

Peace,

Dennis Rowland

From Yve Evans:

First, I'd like to let it be known that I am not a joiner...and at my age, that 'club' thing is so far behind me, it's not worth the conversation. So, when my drummer, Larry Washington, emailed me the link to explore with a note that said, "Don't walk, run", my interest was sparked. I pointed, I clicked and there I was...one of the first thousand to arrive at, what I was to soon discover would become, a huge FAMILY gathering. A magnanimous feast of information, encouragement, laughter, music and genuine-ness. My siblings and parents in jazz; working, creating, sharing everything from their style to their thoughts of the world. What a party! I had scored...BIG. This was the environment that the others tried to build...but I guess they didn’t have the right vision. I'd love to hang around and talk but I've gotta get to the feast!

Long Live TJN!
Yve Evans

P.S. Jaijai...Thank you for making our dream come true.

Celebrate the Day!

From Jae Sinnett:

The Jazz Network presents an interesting platform for those involved in jazz music. Jazz musicians, appreciators and educators are introduced to each other with the click of a mouse. This is important because the proverbial jazz circle is smaller than need be and networking options for jazz musicians are limited. Most "jazz" music sites deal with the marquee names...or as I playfully identify...the repeat offenders. There are many gifted musicians out here playing this music that few know anything about. The Jazz Network is unbiased in its presentation of the music and who it permits to be active on the service. You love jazz? Welcome aboard! That's the key...jazz is the focus. I'm glad to be a part of it. The visibility it is offering me in regard to my nominations and music is of tremendous value. I thank the Jazz Network and hope it's base only continues to grow and make a difference.

From Hilde Hefte:

Dear sweet Jaijai,

I don't know how to thank you for featuring me on the frontpage of this wonderful jazz network you've created. Working with music can be very hard - a thing every musician knows - and receiving a support like yours is a treasure I will keep close to my heart.

I believe you have received lots and lots of warming words from other musicians as well for the work you've done and are doing - and you deserve them all.

But never the less - I feel like saying it one more time: Thank you for creating such a wonderful place to be - AND for featuring me on your front page. It's a huge honor.

From a grateful
Hilde Hefte

It’s a rare occasion when you meet someone who you feel a real connection to … Someone who possesses a kind spirit, unyielding generosity and a dedication to the jazz community beyond expectations.

Jaijai, thank you so much for creating such a fantastic website for the jazz community. You’ve helped artists connect with each other around the world.

I’m proud to have The Jazz Network be the first site to promote my latest recording. Words cannot express my gratitude to you for your dedication to the music and the artists.

With much love and gratitude,
Denise Donatelli

Hi Jaijai,

Stopping by to show you some love and tell you just how much I appreciate all you've been doing here, not just for me but for this incredible community of jazz musicians. I see that The Jazz Network is growing in leaps and bounds daily and want you to know that I recognize the importance of what's going on here, musicians having a place to connect with each other, young musicians having a place to meet and be mentored by musicians who have been around the block. You've created a beautiful space here and it's obvious that folks are feeling very much at home. Thanks for sharing your time, your heart, your soul. This is a huge commitment and you've taken it on with such determination. I wish you and The Jazz Network continued success and support you in all you're doing.

“But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between us. Love one another, and let the love be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.”

This is how I have felt and continue to feel since I joined The Jazz Network on March 4th 2008.
If we look back at our Village Elders one sees how they worked together to achieve and be innovative, and thanks to Jaijai and thejazznetwork.ning we are able to continue on the same path as our Village Elders.

"Thanks to Jaijai for creating this wonderful site. She has drawn on her own extensive history in music to make a truly comfortable place for "unusual" kindred spirits to meet, share and motivate. It's been uplifting, comforting and facinating to meet fellow musicians from cultures and countries around the world."

What a great place you have created, Jaijai. Thank you so much for your dedication and vision. We musicians benefit immensely, as it brings us closer together, allows for many of us to reconnect, or discover each other for the first time. I am still getting acquainted with the enormous benefits of having this independent place for communication between all of us - artists, fans, promoters, etc., and it is a real honor for me to be featured on the Jazz Network Main Page.
