Profile Information

Marital Status
I am Swingle BUT do have a VERY special gal in my life :=) [Swingle referring to music not lifestyle!]
Where are you located?
Northeast of Downtown Houston
Tell us a little about you....
FIRST I want to note how PROUD I am to have a son serving in the USAF who recently returned from a tour in IRAQ.
MAN I WISH I COULD BE MORE LIKE MY SON!!! HE TAUGHT ME EVERYTHING I KNOW :-)

I encourage you to find Aaron's page also here in THE JAZZ NETWORK!
I don't agree with this war but I certainly agree with SUPPORTING our troops especially those in harms way! Now then, onto something a little less stressful; I want to say how much I appreciate the opportunity to be involved in a cutting edge network as JAIJAI has no doubt already invested countless hours in putting this together for us and I for one never want to be guilty of being unthankful, SO, THANK YOU JAIJAI FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK AND EFFORT TO MAKE THIS GREAT NETWORK.
I have been singing for 30 years but only really decided to do something with my music recently. I was invited to the network by Lady Haig of whom I have grown to know an love in such a short time and I am very excited about meeting lots of fellow jazzers. I have done a lot of Television and Radio live and pre-recorded years ago but only in the Christian music venue so I am really excited about singing Jazz/Swing for it has always been a love of my life and I have always said that I was born 25 years too late, if ya knows what I mean. And I thinks ya do be do be do! :-)

I love the new jazz but I would have to admit that the big bands and the old swing style is my first love as it is obvious in my tunes. I LOVE SINGING AND I LOVE JAZZ!
How did you hear about the Jazz Network?

LATEST UPDATE ON AARON IN IRAQ

I just heard from Aaron at 0318 hrs and it is now official; he is back in Baghdad “inside the wire” or in the safe zone. He will remain there until he leaves for Kuwait then on to Germany then on to Denver. He will be there for a while and then travel to Houston to be with me for a couple of weeks. He should arrive in Denver. Please continue to pray for his safe trip home and I want to thank all of you who have so diligently prayed for his safety while in Iraq. If ever I can return the favor, pl… Continue

Great news on my son AARON currently serving in the USAF in Iraq

He called me from a satelite phone while transferring from one operating base to another and he is doing great and is safe and very ready to be home. He is to be in Kuwait on the 10th of April and will then depart from there to probably Germany then to home right outside of Denver. He will spend some much needed private time with his family and then I will be graced with his presence for a couple of weeks while we record several tunes together. We are very excited about this project and I am exs… Continue

Sure, but it's all in the arrangement. I have oddles of tunes at http://pages.prodigy.net/sheilagenealogy . They're sorted in the grid by style. There are several swing section e.g. (meaning swing tempo). But it's up to your arranger to make a "big band" chart for you.

That's why your heart is in a cramp? WOW, I never thought I'd hear a big band chart with a lyric leading people to the Lord. WOW...amazing, I really like what you did here.

Congrats, great big band sound backin' up your very strong voice and message. Don't let your heart stay in a cramp! Brilliant!

It’s a rare occasion when you meet someone who you feel a real connection to … Someone who possesses a kind spirit, unyielding generosity and a dedication to the jazz community beyond expectations.

Jaijai, thank you so much for creating such a fantastic website for the jazz community. You’ve helped artists connect with each other around the world.

I’m proud to have The Jazz Network be the first site to promote my latest recording. Words cannot express my gratitude to you for your dedication to the music and the artists.

With much love and gratitude,

Hi Jaijai,

Stopping by to show you some love and tell you just how much I appreciate all you've been doing here, not just for me but for this incredible community of jazz musicians. I see that The Jazz Network is growing in leaps and bounds daily and want you to know that I recognize the importance of what's going on here, musicians having a place to connect with each other, young musicians having a place to meet and be mentored by musicians who have been around the block. You've created a beautiful space here and it's obvious that folks are feeling very much at home. Thanks for sharing your time, your heart, your soul. This is a huge commitment and you've taken it on with such determination. I wish you and The Jazz Network continued success and support you in all you're doing.

“But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between us. Love one another, and let the love be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.”

This is how I have felt and continue to feel since I joined The Jazz Network on March 4th 2008.
If we look back at our Village Elders one sees how they worked together to achieve and be innovative, and thanks to Jaijai and thejazznetwork.ning we are able to continue on the same path as our Village Elders.

What a great place you have created, Jaijai. Thank you so much for your dedication and vision. We musicians benefit immensely, as it brings us closer together, allows for many of us to reconnect, or discover each other for the first time. I am still getting acquainted with the enormous benefits of having this independent place for communication between all of us - artists, fans, promoters, etc., and it is a real honor for me to be featured on the Jazz Network Main Page.
