Tammy Allen

Tammy Allen is well known and loved in Atlanta for her work with The Future of Jazz Competition, and her intense passion for music. The fiery performer exudes energy and fun onstage. The soulful songstress, scats, dances and connects with the audience every single performance she gives.
Tammy is always a favorite at The Atlanta Jazz Festival where she performed two years in a row in 2006 and 2007. Tammy Allen had the honor of opening for Jonathan Butler at The Lithonia Stewart Amphitheatre this past summer and for the Smooth Jazz 107.5 WJZZ Concert Series at Villa Christina 2006 and 2007. Her calendar is full year round performing at The Georgia Aquarium, The Centennial Park Wednesday Wind Down, The Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, Churchill Grounds, Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre, Londzell’s Jazz and Blues Cafe and Café 290. Be sure to check the website calendar for her busy performance schedule.

Tammy Allen fell in love with the Blues of BB King as a teenager. The love affair has expanded over the years to include every style and genre of music. Growing up, Tammy studied piano, guitar, songwriting, dance and vocals. Her dream, even as a small child, was to be a performer.
She has lived the dream her entire life and has perfected her main instrument, her soulful and silky smooth voice.

A music veteran, Tammy toured throughout the Western United States for 10 years before settling in Atlanta. A natural entrepreneur, Ms. Allen opened her own full service-recording studio, Big House Studios in 2004, where she engineers, teaches guitar, voice and songwriting. The business model has evolved to include TD Entertainment in partnership with PR and Marketing expert Terri Harof. This rapidly growing company handles, PR and Marketing, entertainment booking, producing concerts and events and promotions.
Her love of exploring new directions in music has led her to create The Future of Jazz Competition in partnership with Atlanta’s Office of Cultural Affairs. Now in its fourth year this competition for original jazz had a stage of it’s own at The Atlanta Jazz Festival.
Tammy is a prolific songwriter; she has released three successful CD’s. Her last release “Wonderful To Be” received International Airplay, great sales and critical acclaim.

Her evolution as a songwriter and skillful vocalist is evident on the newly released “From Me To You”. Allen and Leeland Davis a young virtuoso pianist with an equal passion for shaking up traditions collaborated and the final product is familiar yet groundbreaking music.
From Me To You touches on elements of Jazz, Gospel, Rock and Funk. Beautiful melodies and powerful commentary on life permeate the subject matter, leaving you deep in thought. Ultimately you are uplifted with eternal optimism.

I've got some old friends in Atlanta--Ken Watters (trumpet player) Jeff Talmadge (singer-songwriter). I'll be out there doing a few singer-songwriter type gigs in August. Maybe I can catch your show in person if I'm lucky!

It’s a rare occasion when you meet someone who you feel a real connection to … Someone who possesses a kind spirit, unyielding generosity and a dedication to the jazz community beyond expectations.

Jaijai, thank you so much for creating such a fantastic website for the jazz community. You’ve helped artists connect with each other around the world.

I’m proud to have The Jazz Network be the first site to promote my latest recording. Words cannot express my gratitude to you for your dedication to the music and the artists.

With much love and gratitude,
Denise Donatelli

Hi Jaijai,

Stopping by to show you some love and tell you just how much I appreciate all you've been doing here, not just for me but for this incredible community of jazz musicians. I see that The Jazz Network is growing in leaps and bounds daily and want you to know that I recognize the importance of what's going on here, musicians having a place to connect with each other, young musicians having a place to meet and be mentored by musicians who have been around the block. You've created a beautiful space here and it's obvious that folks are feeling very much at home. Thanks for sharing your time, your heart, your soul. This is a huge commitment and you've taken it on with such determination. I wish you and The Jazz Network continued success and support you in all you're doing.

“But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between us. Love one another, and let the love be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.”

This is how I have felt and continue to feel since I joined The Jazz Network on March 4th 2008.
If we look back at our Village Elders one sees how they worked together to achieve and be innovative, and thanks to Jaijai and thejazznetwork.ning we are able to continue on the same path as our Village Elders.

"Thanks to Jaijai for creating this wonderful site. She has drawn on her own extensive history in music to make a truly comfortable place for "unusual" kindred spirits to meet, share and motivate. It's been uplifting, comforting and facinating to meet fellow musicians from cultures and countries around the world."

What a great place you have created, Jaijai. Thank you so much for your dedication and vision. We musicians benefit immensely, as it brings us closer together, allows for many of us to reconnect, or discover each other for the first time. I am still getting acquainted with the enormous benefits of having this independent place for communication between all of us - artists, fans, promoters, etc., and it is a real honor for me to be featured on the Jazz Network Main Page.
