- Julio Fowler was born in Santa Clara, Cuba to a family of theatre actors. He started taking music lessons at the age of six and continued his acting & singing studies in the Havana Superior Institute of Art. He started his music career as a singer songwriter (TROVADOR). He`s a co-founder of the group "Estado de Animo" with Roberto Carcases, X Alfonso, Descemer Bueno. He has appeared in festivals, television programs and sessions with world reknowned cuban artists such as Compay Segundo, Omara Portuondo (Buena Vista Social Club), Pablo Milanes, Síntesis, Hernán Lopez Nusa, Giraldo Piloto y Klimax, Pavel y Gema to name but a few.
He arrived in Madrid as a special guest to perform at the Canción Author Festival. As a result of his success, he started his own project with Open Sound productions, and began a career as a songwriter through a publishing deal with Peermusic composing for Spanish singers such as Marta Sanchez, Edu del Prado, Nuria Fergo, Estela, Mexican singer Eduardo Capetillo, brasilian singer Nilson Chaves, Luis Barbería, and the greatest band from Venezuela "Guaco". He has also written with many other artists such as Jack Tempchim, Claudia Brant, Luis Enrique, Amparo Sandino, Javier Vargas and many more.
His debut album "Dale Mambo" released in 2003 features a unique blend of cuban , R & B and funky sounds. His brand new album: .."Buscando mi lugar".. FACTORIA AUTOR (2006) is! NOW ON SALE in Spain & Portugal. A disc produce by José R. Mestre, Yuri Wong and himself; which includes many guest artists and special collaborations with Amaury Gutierrez (duet), Garrett Wall (duet), raper Nilo Mc, Esmeralda Grao, Nalaya Brown & the great Luis Enrique. A subversive and refreshing sounding album.
